In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves. Then, when the latter (final) promise came, they (your enemies) will sadden your faces, and to enter the Masjid (in Jerusalem), as they entered it the first time, and will destroy what they had taken over with (total) destruction (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

The president ratified the legislation shortly after it was approved by his country’s parliament on Tuesday. The move reflects the Maldivian government’s “firm stance in response to the continuing atrocities and ongoing acts of genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinian people”, a statement from the president’s office said. “The government of Maldives reaffirms its resolute solidarity with the Palestinian cause and its enduring commitment to the promotion and protection of the rights of the Palestinian people. The Maldives continues to advocate for accountability for violations of international law and remains vocal across various international platforms in its condemnation of Israel’s actions,” it added. The Maldives, which is a scenic tourist archipelago in the India Ocean, is a member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. *** US authorities detain another Palestinian student for his stance on the Gaza war Wednesday 16-April-2025 NEW YORK, (PIC) US authorities have detained a second Palestinian student at Columbia University in New York City due to his views on the Israeli genocidal war in Gaza. Attorney Luna Droubi stated that her client, Mohsen Mihdawi, was arrested while reviewing his immigration status for US citizenship procedures. Mihdawi has had legal residency in the United States for 10 years and was detained while in the Vermont immigration office to complete the final steps of his citizenship application. Droubi told the “AP News” network that Mihdawi’s arrest during the naturalization process is illegal and represents a violation of his constitutional right to freedom of expression. The urgent appeal submitted by Droubi to the federal court in Vermont stated that her client had publicly criticized Israeli occupation attacks on Gaza until March 2024 and had been an activist and organizer in student protests on the Columbia University campus, although he later withdrew from participation. The petition submitted to the court indicates that Mohsen Mihdawi was born and raised in the West Bank and entered the United States in 2014 with legal status. Since then, he has held a residency permit and is expected to graduate from Columbia University next month. Additionally, NBC 5 reported that federal judge William Sessions in Vermont issued a temporary order on Monday preventing Mihdawi from being deported out of the state or the country, based on the request submitted to the court. On March 9, US authorities arrested Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil, who led solidarity protests at Columbia University last year in condemnation of the genocide in Gaza. Pro-Palestine protests, which began at Columbia University, have spread to over 50 universities across the country, with police detaining more than 3,100 individuals, mostly students and faculty members. With full US support, Israel has continued to commit genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in approximately 167,000 Palestinian martyrs and injured, most of whom are women and children, in addition to over 11,000 missing persons. *** Na'eem: 'Hamas ready for comprehensive deal, partial agreements are thing of the past Wednesday 16-April-2025 GAZA, (PIC) Senior 'Hamas official Basim Na'eem has affirmed the Movement’s readiness to negotiate a single, comprehensive agreement that would lead to a permanent ceasefire, the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, the reopening of crossings, and the initiation of reconstruction— in exchange for a serious and honorable prisoner exchange deal. In a press statement on Wednesday, Na'eem emphasized that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his far-right government remain the sole obstacle to such an agreement, driven by personal and political calculations. “This remains the position of the Movement, and without it, no deal will be possible. Any illusions Netanyahu promotes to prolong the war will cost everyone dearly—especially their own prisoners,” he stated. He firmly rejected the notion of incremental agreements, saying, “The deception of partial deals in exchange for food and water, while the genocide continues, is a relic of the past.” Meanwhile, Khalid Al-Qaddoumi, Hamas’s representative in Tehran, asserted that any proposed ceasefire that does not take into account the rights and interests of the Palestinian people will not be implementable. Speaking at a political event hosted by the Society for the Defense of the Palestinian People in Tehran on Tuesday, Al-Qaddoumi said there is “a national and factional consensus among Palestinians rejecting any agreement that fails to fully halt aggression, ensure Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza, and deliver a meaningful prisoner exchange.” He added, “The term ‘catastrophe’ is no longer sufficient to describe the dire conditions in Gaza,” warning of an ongoing genocide facilitated by tacit approval from the United States and Western governments. Al-Qaddoumi stressed the need for concrete actions, not merely expressions of solidarity. “It is time for decisive, effective pressure and action from Islamic countries in support of Palestine,” he said, criticizing several Arab and Islamic states for failing to take any meaningful steps to stop the Israeli military crimes. He further described the global boycott movement as one of the most important and effective tools of resistance. “The Zionist entity aims to seize more Palestinian and Arab lands and continue its massacres as part of its goal to establish a ‘Greater Israel’,” he warned. *** 'Hamas calls for solidarity with Palestinian prisoners, urges global action Wednesday 16-April-2025 GAZA, (PIC) The 'Hamas Movement has issued a call for widespread solidarity with Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails, designating 17 April—Palestinian Prisoners’ Day—as a national, regional, and international occasion to renew awareness of their legitimate right to freedom. In a statement released on Wednesday, 'Hamas highlighted the gravity of the situation faced by more than 14,000 Palestinians currently incarcerated by Israel, including women and children, as well as some 2,000 individuals from Gaza whose detention has been acknowledged by Israeli authorities since the beginning of the ongoing genocide on 7 October 2023. The statement described harrowing conditions in Israeli detention facilities, where prisoners are subjected to severe psychological and physical abuse and are systematically denied basic human rights. Since the onset of the war, 63 detainees have died in custody, the most recent being a child, Walid Ahmed, who reportedly died due to deliberate starvation. The Movement further accused Israeli authorities of ongoing acts of enforced disappearance targeting detainees from Gaza. 'Hamas reiterated that the liberation of prisoners remains a top priority in any future exchange deal under what it terms the “Al-A'hrar Flood” operation, out of recognition of their endurance and sacrifices. The Movement warned that crimes committed against prisoners will not break their resolve nor go unpunished, affirming that such violations are not subject to any statute of limitations. Holding Israel fully responsible for the safety and well-being of all detainees, 'Hamas condemned the silence of the international community in the face of what it called acts of extrajudicial execution and systematic killings inside Israeli prisons. The statement compared the Movement’s treatment of Israeli captives—who were treated humanely and in accordance with international norms—with the Israeli government’s “deliberate policy of torture and murder” targeting Palestinian detainees. 'Hamas called on international human rights and humanitarian organizations to expose and document the violations against prisoners from the West Bank, Jerusalem, and Gaza, and to pursue legal accountability through international courts. It also urged urgent and active international intervention to secure their immediate release. Finally, the Movement called on Palestinian masses to continue supporting the prisoners and urged all factions and political forces to unify efforts in defending their cause. Hamas emphasized the importance of providing care to the families of prisoners, whom it described as an integral part of the Palestinian national struggle. *** ****** Gaza: 25 Palestinian martyrs and 89 wounded people in 24 hours Wednesday 16-April-2025 GAZA, (PIC and WAFA) Over the past 24 hours, hospitals in the Gaza Strip received the bodies of 25 martyrs and 89 people suffering from different injuries following Israeli attacks. Al-Ibraheemi Mosque is located in the Israeli-controlled Old City of Al-Khaleel (Hebron). Besides the Palestinians, the Old City is forcibly inhabited by about 400 of the illegal Israeli settlers, guarded by about 1,500 Israeli occupation soldiers. In 1994, Israel divided Al-Ibraheemi Mosque, allocating 63% of its area for Jews, including the prayer room, and 37% for Muslims, following a massacre committed by a Jewish settler against Muslim worshippers during dawn prayer, which resulted in the martyrdom of 29 worshippers. Based on the division decision, an investigation committee formed by Israel at the time decided to open the Mosque entirely to Muslims only ten days a year, namely the Fridays of Ramadan, Laylatul-Qadr, 'Eidul-Fitr and 'Eidul Adh'ha, the night of Al-Israa wal M'iraj, the Prophet’s Birthday, and the Islamic New Year, in exchange for opening it completely to Jews for ten days a year on Jewish religious holidays and events. *** Illegal Israeli settlers storm archaeological palace west of Aree'ha (Jericho) Aree'ha (Jericho), April 16, 2025 (WAFA) – A group of the illegal Israeli settlers, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, stormed on Wednesday the archaeological site of Herod’s Palace in Wadi Qelt, in the village of Al--Duyouk Al-Ta'hta west of Aree'ha (Jericho), and performed Talmudic rituals there. In a statement published on its official website, the agency said that the entire healthcare system in Gaza has been under attack since the start of the Israeli aggression, calling for an end to the ongoing blockade imposed by Israeli occupation forces and the renewal of a ceasefire. In the same context, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) stated in a report published Wednesday that Gaza has been turned into a mass grave of Palestinians and those coming to their assistance. “We are witnessing in real time the destruction and forced displacement of all people in Gaza,” said Amande Bazerolle, MSF emergency coordinator in Gaza. “With nowhere safe for Palestinians or those trying to help them, the humanitarian response is severely struggling under the weight of insecurity and critical supply shortages, leaving people with few, if any, options for accessing care.” “This horrific killing of aid workers is yet another example of the blatant disregard shown by Israeli forces for the protection of humanitarian and medical workers. The silence and unconditional support of Israel’s closest allies further emboldens these actions, ” said Claire Magone, MSF general director. As Israeli forces resume and expand their military offensive by air, ground and sea on the Gaza Strip, forcibly displacing people and deliberately blocking essential assistance, Palestinian lives are once again being systematically destroyed, warned MSF. MSF called on Israeli authorities to immediately lift the inhumane and deadly siege on Gaza, and protect the lives of Palestinians, humanitarian and medical personnel. It further called for the restoration and preservation of a ceasefire. T.R. *** MSF: Gaza became a mass grave, people are embracing death Wednesday 16-April-2025 GAZA, (PIC) The Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)/ Doctors Without Borders said the Gaza Strip has become a mass grave for Palestinians and those who come to help them as a result of the Israeli genocidal war and blocking humanitarian aid delivery. The Israeli occupation authorities have been closing Gaza Strip crossings since early March, preventing the entry of humanitarian and medical aid, in the longest period of closure since the onset of the war on October 7, 2023. “A series of deadly attacks by Israeli forces have shown a blatant disregard for the safety of humanitarian and medical workers in Gaza,” MSF said in a press release on Wednesday. The organization called on the occupation authorities to lift their inhumane and deadly blockade and to protect citizens as well as humanitarian and medical personnel. The report devoted space to the statements of Amande Bazerolle, the MSF’s emergency coordinator in Gaza who said, “Gaza has turned into a mass grave for Palestinians and those who help them. We are witnessing both the destruction and forced displacement of the entire population of Gaza.” “The humanitarian response is struggling in light of insecurity and lack of supplies, and there is no safe place for Palestinians or those trying to help them. People are left with few options for accessing healthcare,” she added. According to the UN, at least 409 aid workers have been killed since October 2023, most of them are of the UNRWA staff, Gaza’s main provider of humanitarian aid, while eleven MSF staff have been martyred since the onset of the war, including those killed in the line of duty, two in the past two weeks alone. “This horrific killing of aid workers is yet another example of Israeli forces’ complete disregard for the protection of humanitarian and medical workers, and the silence and unconditional support of Israel’s closest allies further encourages these acts,” said Claire Magone, MSF France’s Director-General. “Only an international and independent investigation can shed light on the circumstances of these attacks on aid workers, and the responsibilities involved,” she added. “In the past three weeks, MSF has witnessed several incidents in which humanitarian and medical workers have been killed. The coordination of humanitarian movements with the Israeli authorities, known as the humanitarian notification system, is an already inadequate mechanism that is now unreliable and offers hardly any guarantees of protection,” Claire Magone stated. MSF teams have had to leave many facilities, while others continue to operate with staff and patients trapped inside and unable to leave safely for hours. The complete blockade of Gaza has depleted stocks of food, fuel and medicines, with MSF specifically facing shortages of medicines to treat pain and chronic diseases, antibiotics and essential surgical materials, she stressed. The Israeli occupation authorities have deliberately blocked all aid from entering Gaza for more than a month, and humanitarian workers have been forced to watch people suffer and die, while they bear the impossible burden of providing relief with depleted supplies, while they themselves face the same life-threatening conditions, she added. Magone emphasized that what is happening in Gaza “is not a humanitarian failure, it is a political choice, a deliberate assault on a people’s ability to survive, and it is being carried out with impunity.” MSF called on the occupation authorities to end their collective punishment of Palestinians and to stop destroying the lives of citizens in the war-torn Strip. *** Albanese: The United Nations is fragmented and paralyzed Wednesday 16-April-2025 LONDON, (PIC) Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories, warned that time is running out to save Palestinian citizens in the Gaza Strip from ethnic cleansing, which is also extending to the occupied West Bank. She emphasized that the United Nations is currently fragmented and completely paralyzed in its ability to function as an organization. Albanese described the Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip as the most sadistic and militarized since the end of World War II in 1945, where people are killed by the dozens and hundreds within hours, saying, “nothing remains.” In an interview with Al-Araby Al-Jadeed on Tuesday, the UN rapporteur noted that “the realities on the ground in the Palestinian territories are extremely tragic, and the illegitimacy of the Israeli occupation and the associated infrastructure have become more apparent.” She pointed out that the campaign of incitement by many pro-Israel organizations, that preceded the renewal of her mandate, is linked to her work. “One of the critical points in my work is to highlight the impunity granted to Israel by member states, particularly Western countries such as Germany, France, Canada, the United States, and the Netherlands.” Albanese stressed that independent UN experts have been the most outspoken in condemning the grave and horrific violations of international law that have occurred in the occupied Palestinian territories. Ethnic cleansing and a silent Nakba Regarding the expulsion of two British MPs after they were detained at Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport, and the possibility of facing the same fate if she decided to go to Palestine, she said, “I have no reason to go to what remains of Palestine through Israel, as Israel has declared me a persona non grata.” Albanese added, “But the important point is that the borders with Jordan and Egypt should not be under Israeli control; this is the most important thing I want your audience to understand, to be aware of, and to raise in discussions with governments. This should be a constant reminder.” She affirmed that international law obliges all member states not to recognize the consequences of illegal occupation, stressing that the occupation, with its military components, settlements, control over natural resources, airspace, and borders, must come to an end. She continued, “Palestinians must be allowed to enjoy the right to self-determination, that is, the right to exist as a people. It is wrong to allow Israel to continue controlling Gaza or to govern the West Bank.” The UN rapporteur noted that ethnic cleansing has been a constant feature of Palestinian life under Israeli rule from the Nakba until today in various forms, including what can be described as a silent Nakba. She expressed her belief that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has a “great personal interest in the catastrophic extermination attack on Gaza. Now we see many in Israel raising their voices against this attack, but not enough to overthrow Netanyahu.” A new international reality Albanese believes that international law and the institutions operating within its framework are going through a “critical moment for a multilateral system” in light of a new international reality following Donald Trump’s rise to power in the US and the increasing strength of right-wing parties in Europe. She asked, “What is the benefit of the international system if it fails to enforce its basic rules? Like the prohibition on the use of force except under certain circumstances; I mean, no one is truly challenging Israel’s right to self-defense, which is currently nonexistent,” noting a failure to respect international law, a failure to ensure humanitarian aid, and a failure to create space for peace-building. Albanese emphasized that “what Israel is doing is not self-defense, but total destruction for ideological political purposes or mere self-interest, and there is no military necessity for the use of force. Therefore, the UN is now fragmented and completely paralyzed in its ability to act as an organization.” She continued that international law has failed to stop the genocide, “not because of the limitations of the rules-based system, but due to non-functional enforcement mechanisms. International law is as strong as the will of states and their ability to enforce it.” The UN rapporteur ridiculed French President Emmanuel Macron’s announcement of Paris’s desire to recognize the Palestinian state “thirty years too late,” considering it a distraction from stopping the genocide. She also attacked the “audacity” of German universities that invited her to give lectures and then canceled without informing her, describing the new era as “an era of silencing academics.” *** =============================================================================================================================== Editorial
